The first night after my son Theodore was born, I found myself pacing around the hospital room in the middle of the night trying to calm him back to sleep. I had never tried to soothe a crying baby before, so I just did what I know how to do: I sang hymns.
I found not only that the hymns helped Theodore to calm down, but they were also comforting to me. I discovered that I was both a father consoling his child, and a child in need of a Father’s consolation.
As I continued singing hymns each night, I started recording them during the day. The result was my first album, “Lullabies,” available now on all major streaming platforms.
About the Music
“Lullabies” is a collection of eight classic Christian hymns sung for children. It features delicate piano performances, soft singing, and rich lyrics from beloved hymn writers.
While you can, of course, simply listen to the music, the album was made to be sung along with. Most streaming platforms (including Spotify and Apple Music) will offer synchronized lyrics for these songs, making it easy to sing along. You can also find full lyric videos on YouTube, plus an extended “bedtime liturgy” video coming soon: every song on the album in one video with added prayers and readings from Scripture.
Why Lullabies?
If you look online for bedtime content for children, you’ll find a lot of (for lack of a better term) slop. I hate to use such a harsh word, but I think it’s the best way to describe the hours-long, AI-generated, highly processed bedtime videos we see nowadays. Videos like these may help your baby to fall asleep, but they lack the one thing we need more than ever: humanity.
Imperfect as they are, my recordings are 100% AI-free and made with love. My guarantee to my listeners is that my music will always be made by people, for people, to the glory of God.
Support & Future Projects
If you like this album and want more music like this, please consider supporting me on Ko-fi. The majority of what I make goes right back into making more and better music, and every bit helps!
I already have a follow-up lullaby project in the works, and it could potentially be released this year with your help. Please, if you are interested in hearing more lullabies, let me know by leaving a comment, sharing, and supporting me on Ko-fi!
Thanks for listening!
